Tutorial - What I Want

To know what you really want is to see yourself clearly.

How can you begin to see yourself clearly? Here is a simple exercise.

First write down in as few words as possible what you really want. Then ask yourself: "Is there something I am assuming is quite impossible -- that if I give myself some slack, might yet be possible?"

Look behind the curtain to the hint of possibility, behind what you are now telling yourself is quite impossible. Stop for a minute or two to write down your most basic assumption.

Next find new words for what you want, new words pruned of the tired assumptions about what you have been told is impossible. How do you feel? Many who practice this exercise report that instantly they have a taste of freedom, of releasing energies and of collecting powers.

A last step. Stretch. Stretch into the zone of impossibility and give yourself permission to see, to see yourself accomplishing what you are now so sure is quite impossible.

The purpose of this practice is not to come in touch with greed -- to tell yourself you can have whatever you want--rather to develop clarity. To yourself be true -- this is the integrity point.
