Principle of Beauty

Your task is to find in each day a special point of beauty. Thereby each day will become sacred. Let beauty be the marker.

See if five times this week you can discover this one (1) point and then give it a name. For example, if you discover on a walk in the country a lovely pond with the wind running through the grasses beside it, you might name your discovery, "pond with wind running through its hair." We want, as Shakespeare advises us, in the swirl of clouds that encompasses our little life, to give to airy nothing, these fleeting moments, a local habitation and a name.

Point of Beauty: The practice of integrity is to be constantly on the alert for beauty, in others, in our work, in the living world, in ourselves.

If you practice seriously in this way, every day will be a good day, every day can be better.
