Every situation presents an integrity challenge or "case." Sometimes our actions flow naturally from our integrity (intuition). At other times this is not so. We act unconsciously, driven by anxiety or panic -- by an "impulse" which is really a reactive twitch of the nervous system. The impulse/intuition ratio provides you with an instant check of whether you are acting through mindless impulse or by integrity.
The more integrity develops, the more your actions will flow naturally from your deeper wisdom and your actions will combine logic with your higher intuition (logos). If you find that your impulse/intuition ratio exceeds 1, you might want to examine more carefully how you are falling away from integrity, and what to do to reclaim it. If your opponent is impulsive, study this behavior, understand how it can compromise a player under trying conditions, but also understand in what ways it can make you vulnerable.
