Attack Integrity

(Includes: Attack integrity, Compromise integrity, Contaminate integrity, Fall out of integrity, Surrender integrity, Undermine integrity)

Whether the attack first comes from the outside or the inside, the collapse of integrity is invariably from within. In one way or another all the terms in this program that point to the fall of integrity confirm this basic principle.

Character is key. Character is the container through which our gifts issue forth through the world. When character is flawed the edifice is vulnerable to mold and decay. Much of classical literature from Homer to Shakespeare portrays how by dint of a tragic fall the superior and noble person is brought down.

Here are some of the ways:

By anger and pride: Anger is born of pride and pride enflames anger (see the example).

By jealousy: Jealousy -- the green-eyed monster that mocks the meat on which it feeds (see the example).

By greed for wealth and power: Unbridled greed for wealth and power assures the breakdown in integrity (see the example).

By the baleful forces of the universe: At times baleful external forces conspire in league with the flaws in our own integrity to confute us (see the example).
