The following seminars are available as either public seminars (see the calendar) or on-site workshops tailored specially to your company's greatest challenges and concerns.
Adaptive Negotiation , Adaptive Alliances - Building Successful Alliances in Times of High Risk, High Uncertainty, High Volatility, and Exponential Change. See details.
Learn to Conduct Effective Alliance Mediation - What is your present SYSTEM of alliance negotiation? How much would you benefit if you could increase your Return on Negotiations (RON) by 10% as a result of these two days of training? How can you manage your alliances in the midst of Economic Chaos? How do you CREATE VALUE from Difference and Discord? See details.
Artful Negotiating - Turning Adversity To Advantage For Yourself And Others - At its heart, this one-day workshop is about building and strengthening integrity - your capacity to be connected, coherent, whole, and adaptively vital. But to know your integrity, you must be able to live it. For knowledge only has value if it can be used. So, like a martial artist, you learn a core set of values and principles; the negotiation moves you practice put that conceptual understanding into action. The more your skill develops, the more agile you become. For more information see the detailed description.
Wise Leadership & Effective Negotiation - A fundamental question throughout this course will be: is it really possible in this age of cost cutting, reengineering and downsizing, for leaders and their organizations to reach an intelligent and compassionate balance, between "heart" and "head," without torpedoing the bottom line? The course will open with a brief review of some of the contending schools of thought: realists versus value-based leaders, exponents of "top down" versus participatory "empowered" change. By case studies we will look for the secrets of how the best of leaders conceived and communicated their visions, inspired trust, and translated their ideas into practical action. For more information see the detailed description.
Managing in the Midst of Chaos - This 3 hour Executive Seminar was originally designed for TECH - an international association of CEO's. The program presents the essence of the integrity system through carefully prepared case studies. For more information see the detailed description.
Artful Negotiating for Mediators - brief description under construction. For more information see the detailed description.
Managing Effectively in Chaos: New Tools, New Ways of Thinking - Those who can change are free. Yet for some the process now under way in corporate America -- call it whatever you like: reengineering, restructuring, outsourcing, transformation, flattening, downsizing, rightsizing, a quest for global competitiveness -- can be disorienting, frustrating, and painful. The secret to turning adversity into opportunity depends on how well you can manage in chaos. For more information see the detailed description.
The Art of Negotiation for Project Managers - Many project managers are under great stress because they (incorrectly) believe they have little power in situations involving heavy responsibility. Why is power largely a matter of perception? Where are the leverage points? Why do project managers fail to recognize them? Worse, why do project managers fail to take advantage of leverage points? If a supplier or other critical party proves unreliable -- or changes the rules without notice -- what skills do you possess to recognize this behavior in advance? How can you obtain a "buy-in" from your team members and management to ensure that proper resources are assigned to a project?

Designing and Implementing Breakthrough Strategic Alliances
(Julian Gresser and Dr. Stephen Gomes)
The ability to collaborate effectively is fast becoming the essential competitive capability in the new global marketplace. Booz, Allen & Hamilton reports there are over 4,000 new strategic alliances being formed each month, with the annual growth rate exceeding 20%. This workshop is designed to provide those who are new to strategic alliances and even the experienced CEO/president with some useful techniques based on best practices. Participants will leave the program better able to forge more creative and durable alliances, regenerate troubled ones, and when necessary, terminate hopeless alliances, with dignity.
Some important questions:
"Keeping Dynamic Balance While Competing Against Time"
( Julian Gresser & Ken Cohen)
Why do top executives have the highest rates of heart disease, prostate and some other forms of cancer, stroke, and numerous other fatal illnesses? Why is the incidence of these diseases today sharply rising? Many physicians and other health experts have discovered a primary cause with an unusual name--'hurry sickness.'
Hurry sickness, they contend, is the result of our relentless progress away from the natural (sacred) cycles of the seasons, the winds and the tides, and most directly, the rhythm of our own bodies. Historians suggest it began with the calendar, which introduced the revolutionary idea of linear time. It was accelerated by the invention of the clock, which became the metaphor for the new Newtonian cosmology. Today the computer completes the divorce, processing time in billions of bits per second, placing time forever beyond the farthest glimpse of human experience. The social critic Jeremy Rifkin writes: " We are entering a new temporal world where time is segmented into nanoseconds, the future is programmed in advance, nature is reconceived as bits of coded information, and paradise is viewed as a fully simulated, artificial environment."
Yet time in the new global economy has become the equivalent of land, capital, labor, and technology. And the ways leading companies manage time--in new product development, marketing, sales, and distribution --are the most powerful new sources of competitive advantage.
How does one find a balance between business exigency, health and quality of life? They appear on a collision course.
This pilot TEC program will demonstrate that this need not be so. In fact, we will explore a paradox: the more we master the secrets of 'slow time,' the quicker, the more incisive our action. This is exemplified by the samurai maxim , fudo-myoo, 'unmoving mind, unvacillating body.' To the samurai warrior, trained to face death in every moment, each moment opened an infinity of time and space.
In the 4,000 year old Chinese martial and healing art of qigong we reach the highest pinnacle of human experimentation and experience with reconciling slow and fast time.
Today over 100 million people in China practice qigong, because it affords a sensible, practical, economical, measurable, and immediately available pastime, and a way for adults to return to an original state of health, longevity, and well being.
TEC's two presenters are internationally recognized exerts in their fields. Ken Cohen is a master of qigong and a renowned Taoist-Chinese scholar. Julian Gresser is a professional negotiator, international lawyer, Japan specialist, and management consultant. Their program will focus on simple and immediate applications of key concepts, tools and techniques, which will enable you to keep your balance, precisely and accurately, even when competing against time.
