MANAGING IN THE MIDST OF CHAOS

How to navigate wisely in the midst of chaos -- through the chaos of an embattled and impeached presidency; through the turbulence and uncertainty of the financial markets; through the chaos of personal relationships, impaired health, or business frustrations?

There is a way through chaos and it lies in mastering an ancient idea - integrity - into which this 10 part series will breathe new life. With many practical examples the program will show that the breakdown of integrity lies at the core of many of our society's ills, and in its reconstruction, individually, within local communities, and as a nation,will be found the path to healing and re-creation.

Part I -- Managing in the Midst of Chaos

Author and program host, Julian Gresser, will discuss the basic ideas in his recent book, Piloting Through Chaos: Wise Leadership/Effective Negotiation for the 21st Century.

Part II -- Artful Negotiation

Julian Gresser will continue his explanation of the basics of artful negotiation, showing how the system has been used in some of the most challenging situations in business today, and contrasting his approach with other styles of negotiation such as 'take-no-prisoners' and 'win-win.'

Part III -- Integrity and Wise Leadership

The program will examine the imbroglio of the Clinton Presidency from the vantage point of integrity and wise leadership, developing the idea that morality is not simply in the eye of the beholder, but that true ethics develops out of consciousness.

Special Guest -- Dr. Glenn A. Olds -- former UN Ambassador to the UN Economics and Social Council

Part IV -- Strategic Alliances: The Power Path of Business in the 21st Century

The program will examine the new business and legal model of breakthrough strategic alliances, based on case studies of best international practices. Integrity will be shown as the lynchpin of trust and true creative synergy.

Julian Gresser will explore why epidemic 'hurry sickness' is a primary cause of the high rates of angina, stroke and cancer among top executives. By bringing fast time and slow time into dynamic balance (integrity), the program will show that there is a way to lead a healthy and balanced life, even while competing against time.

Part VII -- The Inner Game of Stock Investing

Based on models of the great master investors -- Peter Lynch, Warren Buffett, Sir John Templeton, and others, Julian Gresser will explore how character (integrity) holds the key to effective investing in today's chaotic global stock markets.

Part VIII -- Japan's Economic Meltdown and the Prospects of the Global Economy

The program will explore why the breakdown of integrity holds the key to understanding the meltdown of the Japanese economic miracle and its lessons for all those involved in international business.

Special Guest -- Professor Mark Fruin, author of "The Japanese Economic System" and other books on Japanese corporate strategy.

Part IX -- The Internet as a Wisdom Super Highway?

Despite the cacophony that characterizes the Internet today, there are underway experiments which seek to capture the Internet's potential as a vehicle for elevating human consciousness. Julian Gresser and his colleague, Tod Brannan, Vice President of Logos Networks Corporation will discuss their company's efforts to forge an "alliance of kindness," pursuant to 'the principle of pay forward.'

Part X -- The Internet and The New Science of Discovery

The final program will show how the Internet can be used as a means for accelerating scientific discovery. The focus will be upon the work of the Corps of Discovery,a group of ophthalmologists and other explorers, who are seeking to come up with breakthroughs in the treatment of Exfoliation Syndrome, a particularly virulent disease whose symptoms resemble those of glaucoma. The founders view this project as the pilot in developing a new science of discovery, with first emphasis on integrative medicine.

Julian Gresser is an international lawyer, professional negotiator, author, inventor, and internationally recognized expert on Japan.He has twice been Visiting Mitsubishi Professor at the Harvard Law School, Visiting Professor at MIT, and a consultant to the World Bank, the U.S State Department, The Prime Minister's Office of Japan, The European Commission, and hundreds of U.S. European, and Japanese companies during the past twenty five years. The program is based on his recent book, Piloting Through Chaos, The Artful Navigator-a wisdom expert software system his company has developed, and his work with The Logos Network, a global forum for negotiators on the Internet.
