The Logos Discovery Project

There is increasing evidence of a field of mind, which operates by its own subtle energetic principles and which can be influenced especially through coherent, beneficial action. Moreover, as each participant enhances his or her own personal effectiveness (integrity) a positive feedback loop is created, with the result that the integrity and coherence of the alliance overall is exponentially augmented. This in turn strongly fortifies the participants' individual effectiveness, and so on.

The following are some important sources of the idea:

Can a single person change the course of history? Certainly for ill, as for example John Wilke's Booth's assasination of Lincoln. What about a single generous act by one person? What about a hundred? How many concerted acts of kindness continued over time might change the world? (see excerpt for the last chapter of Julian Gresser, Piloting Through Chaos (1996).

For those participants who are looking for worthy projects through which immediately to turn The Wheel, here are two candidates:

The purpose of The Make-A-Wish Foundation (www.makewish.org) is to grant the favorite wishes of children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 18 who are living with life threatening illnesses. The granting of a wish provides the child and family with special and gentle memories during often the last and traumatic stages of the child's life. Inquiries should be directed to Robin Glasgow: (1-415-543-7066; greatbay@wish.org.)

a.) The Glaucoma Foundation ( www.glaucoma-foundation.org/info)

Through its Think Tank Task Force The Glaucoma Foundation is making strong progress in finding a way to protect and ultimately to regenerate damage to the optic nerve associated with glaucoma. Inquiries should be addressed to John W. Corwin, Executive Director: Tel: 1-212-504-1901; e-mail: jwcorwin@mindspring.com

b.) The Exfoliation Syndrome Discovery Project

This is a new 2 year research project which is applying techniques of discovery engineering to come up with breakthroughs in the treatment of Exfoliation Syndrome, a serious form of glaucoma affecting some 25 million people world wide. By bringing together a corps of imaginative people with different professional skills--opthalmologists and other physicians, inventors, psychologists, experts in mediation and group faciliation, masters of qigong -- we also hope to advance our understanding of how to build highly synergistic discovery teams in integrative medicine This novel approach may also ultimately lead to a new science of discovery. Inquiries should be addressed to Robert Ritch, M.D.: tel: 1-212-477-750; e-mail ritch@inx.net ; or Julian Gresser: Tel: 1-415-331-7212; jgresser@logosnet.com .
